EV Conversion Diary

Despite the legal problems, I take both kids to their first day of school in my EV. This and other rides indicate to me that I'm not done yet. Not by a long shot.

At last, the Silent E moves! Just a few quick runs around the block, with charging in between, to break in the batteries. Then on to the tax collector -- to fight the Red Tape Monster.

Today was supposed to be the Silent E's maiden voyage. It took a lot of effort and a last-minute drive to the local surplus shop, but we got the wheels to spin. Unfortunately, they spun backwards.

Oh, but there was plenty of blood. Read on.

I've been working sporadically on SilentE for the past few days. Everything is taking much longer than I expected. But there have been a few... exciting moments.

I've been trying to work on the car, really I have. Nathan's been over to visit while I was out, and he's gotten most of the wiring finished. He even left me a shopping list for the last of the parts we need. So why is it taking me so long to get this thing on the road?
